Adventures in Play

Adventures in Play was an exciting selection of outdoor events during Nov and Dec 2020. Each one received fantastic praise and we are so grateful we were able to keep doing this kind of work during such a strange time.

The last two sessions were amazing! It was brilliant to see Enid so captivated with the stories, she loved every minute and the outdoor setting makes it extra special. I love how you guys engage with all the children, including the wee unsure ones.

Situated in Pollok Park, Glasgow, this fantastic outdoor play space has been created as a direct result of the ongoing pandemic. An outdoor space, large enough for social distancing yet close enough that we don’t feel lost. A few things to think about:

Social distance: Parents/Carers, there will be dedicated 2 metre markers to ensure carers can socially distance. There will be chairs provided and you are welcome to bring snacks/flasks of hot beverages/books.

Timings: We have given ourselves 30mins in between sessions to clean, tidy and set up. We would ask you not to arrive too early in advance of your session, nor hang around too long after the session is finished. This is to ensure unnecessary contact is kept to a minimum.

Stay or Go: There will be seats set out for parents/carers on site should you choose to stay for the session. If your child needs you to be a little more involved please make sure you are at a safe distance from other adults. If necessary please wear a face mask. There is also the option in 6-8 year old sessions for parents/carers to leave the Playbarn. If you wish to do this please make sure you fill in the provided medical form, ensuring we have up-to-date emergency contacts and informing us of any medical info we may need.

Dress appropriately: Remember, it is outside and this is Scotland! Please make sure you and your child are dressed for the weather as you will definitely have less fun if you can’t feel your toes! Costumes are always welcome but not compulsory.

Track and Trace: Please make sure and sign into The Outdoor Playbarn’s Track and Trace - we’ll show you where it is when you arrive.

Toilets: There is one onsite toilet that we are able to use.

Photos: We may take some photos during the session for our website and social media but we won’t take a photo of your child without your signed permission. Permission forms will be given out at the event.

Government guidelines and possible cancellations: We are adhering to Government guidelines and sticking to the limited numbers allowed at outdoor activities. If the guidelines change and the number is lessened we may need to reduce numbers. (We’ll start with the person who booked last.) If for any reason we need to cancel due to illness or additional Government restrictions, we’ll refund all money paid and let you know as soon as its possible to reschedule.
